Bringing Coastal Voices Against Abandoned Vessels to the House of Commons
June 11th, 2018 - 4:47pm
Successive Liberal and Conservative inaction on abandoned vessels is threatening the environment, fisheries, and tourism in coastal communities across Canada.
The Liberal's Bill C-64 has been missing from the agenda in Parliament for the last three months, and I want to see it called back for a final vote before Parliament breaks for the summer.
I stood in the House to bring voices of East coast communities like Truro, Nova Scotia, Bible Hill, Nova Scotia and River John, Nova Scotia, and from Gabriola Island, Lantzville, British Columbia, Town of Ladysmith and Nanaimo, British Columbia who ask the government to finally act on this longstanding pollution problem on our coast.
